Cosmetology 2018 is a global platform to discuss and learn about new cosmetic surgery technologies, aesthetic practices, anti-aging treatments, effects of cosmetic surgeries, current research in cosmetic dermatology and trichology advancements in cosmetology research. Track 1: Cosmetic Surgeries-New era of face and body contouring

Cosmetic surgeries encompasses of numerous sculpting and contouring techniques employed by cosmetic surgeons to improve appearance of individuals.  The main focus is to enhance aesthetic appeal, symmetry and physical proportion. Most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries are facial contouring, skin rejuvenation, breast augmentation, eye lid lift and liposuction.

According to International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) labiaplasty was the fastest growing surgical procedure with a rise in 45% from 2016 followed by lower body and upper body lift.  Moreover, breast augmentation procedure still remained the most commonly performed procedure till June 2017.

Track 2: Changing Aspects of Aesthetic practices

Aesthetic practice is one of the branches of the dermatology which deals with the manual and operative procedures either to repair injuries or to enhance ones physical appearance. It comprises of both surgical and non-surgical procedures. The main cosmetic treatments involved in aesthetic practices are radiofrequency skin tightening, facelifts, chemical peels, breast implants, thermage etc.

All the Cosmetic Minimally-Invasive Procedures have had both incline as well as decline compared to statistics report of the both 2015 and 2016. Botulinum toxin type A and chemical peels both  had an incline of 4% and  Soft tissue fillers  had incline of 2% whereas Laser hair removal and Microdermabrasion treatments declined by 1 and 3 % as compared to 2016 report. The Botulinum Toxin type A injections was noticed to be commercially largest used injections for skin rejuvenation therapies.

Track 3: Furtherance in Cosmetic Dermatology

Cosmetic dermatology is a specialized branch of medicine which deals with diagnosis and treatment of skin and nails related diseases such as aging management, nail fungal treatment, facial surgeries, laser treatments etc. Presently Nano emulsions are used to treat skin aging caused due to tissue degeneration. Skin photoaging is on scales of successful cures by reconstructive surgeries. Skin grafting techniques are used to treat skin burns. Skin rejuvenation and resurfacing are another trending techniques performed with the help of lasers.

Cosmetic dermatology market is one of the top leading segments in cosmetology industry. Photorejuvenation treatments have increased globally upto 36% as compared to previous year statistics. Besides these Hyaluronic Acid had an incline of 16%, Laser Tattoo Removal with rise of 13% and Nonsurgical Skin Tightening has reached profit of 12% till the end of 2016. Photorejuvenation is one of the top 5 non-surgical procedures where an approximate of 650,000 treatments were performed globally by the end of 2016.

Track 4:  Emerging research in Trichology

Trichology is a co-branch of dermatology which deals with diseases and abnormal conditions related to hair and scalp. Hair transplants and hair restorations are the spontaneous recovery to excessive hair loss. The current furtherance and the idea of utilizing follicular unit joins have influenced this system to achieve another height.

Above all the cosmetic treatments the hair restoration treatment has reached new heights. The micro pigmentation technique is found to be most widely used technique. United States followed by Canada were the two most populous countries performing hair restoration treatment with profit of 18 % and 43 %. Moreover, 78% of successful non-surgical operations were performed and 67% successful of surgical operations were performed in recent years. In coming years it is predicted that the ratio of will be inclined by 5% per year.

Track 5: Amelioration and risks in Cosmetic Gynaecology

Cosmetic gynaecology is basically termed to be used by atheists to enhance female genitals. Various procedures such as the most emerging procedure of labiaplasty, vaginal rejuvenation, pelvic floor repair and hymen repair. Cosmetic gynaecology can be both surgical and non-surgical procedures. The growth of cosmetic surgical clinics has increased the awareness, accessibility and affordability.

About 95,010 labiaplasty surgeries, 50,086 Vaginal Rejuvenation surgeries were performed globally in the year 2015. Gynaecological surgeries rank among top 25 cosmetic surgeries performed globally. The average increase in gynaecology from last years is estimated to be 10% than 2014-15 statistics.

Track 6: The science of Color Cosmetics, fragrances and beauty therapies      

Commercial cosmetics and beauty therapies is another large sector of cosmetology. It includes various specialities like beauty therapy which also enhances an individual’s self-esteem and confidence. It also assists to ameliorate the effects of illness, and can aid earlier recovery. Color cosmetics are growing in trends such as hair streaking. These hair colouring chemicals can have many adverse effects. Other than these, the use perfumes, deodorants have inclined to new heights. Recently fermented sea kelps have been used various cosmetic companies to make skin care products.

The segment of hair care industry is the top most trending segment after permanent hair texture. The Professional beauty Associations are growing by 16 % and expected to grow by 5% till 2020. The global expected revenue profit is about to reach 49.3 billion$ by 2017. By 2017, it is expected to have an annual increase of 3.3billion$. Track 7: Current innovations in Cosmetic Dentistry and use of biomaterials

Cosmetic dentistry refers to the repairing of tooth using synthetic resins. It also includes dental implants to replace missing tooth, maxillofacial surgery and amalgam filling. Mostly biomaterials are used to restore oral health. Biomaterials include biocompatible synthetic materials like cementum, enamel.  Current research includes joining of resin based composites to ensure maintenance of restorative dental materials and hard tissues of the tooth.

A research survey conducted by Grand View Research, indicated the global cosmetic dentistry market to reach $27.95 billion$ by the year 2024. It was also predicted that the global oral hygiene market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4% through the year 2020. Among many cosmetic procedures, some of the most common cosmetic procedures are teeth whitening and alignment correction.

Track 8: Advantages of diet, Nutrition and use of Probiotics

Nutritious food and a balanced diet are other important segments of cosmetology.  Healthy diet will enhance the glow and beauty of skin. Now days a wide variety of nutritional supplements are available in the market according to personalized need and use. Use of probiotics like yogurt is also on increasing scale. The species of bifidobacteria and lactobacillus are mainly used as probiotics in most of the products.

Probiotic market has emerged with new products time to time such as probiotic serum containing live microorganisms which are inactivated by freeze-drying. Water based probiotic products are expected to be launched by the end of 2017. The annual turnover of the probiotics is estimated to be 23.93 billion$ by the end of 2017.  Europe and Asia are the largest markets of probiotics. Where the global growth rate estimated is 6.8% for the coming years.

Track 9: Paradigms of Green cosmetology - A safer approach

New ventures are being found in green cosmetology stating the use of naturally derived and synthetically made organic products. The synthetic products are also chemical based but derived from natural extracts. Spanish Lavender extract is being used to reduce wrinkle formation; retinoic acid from rosehip seed oil is used as substitute of retinol to reduce appearance of fine lines.

Grand view research stated the organic skin care companies to be in hike of growing in coming years evaluating the present scenario with 30.9%. The current organic and natural cosmetic market is supposed to reach value of 11,057$ and is further to reach is double value in coming 8 years i.e. 22$ by 2024. Moreover, North America is expected to be finest and largest producer of natural cosmetics with a share of 33.5% in global market.

Track 10: Success rate of skin grafting and laser treatments      

The rate of cutaneous defilements is increasing with an excessive use of chemical based cosmetics which results in earlier aging. Recent laser based treatments have set a new trend to fight against age management. The use of lasers for tattoo removal, treating vascular lesions, hair removal and skin resurfacing has leaded its growth to new statures. Acellular Dermal Matrix and skin grafting has successfully been used to cure traumatic injuries and burns.

According to American Burn Association, roughly a figure of 1 million burn injuries occurred in America out of which only half of them acquire hospitalization and among those 25000 were being treated successfully with grafts and other treatments. Approximate of 4% successful treatments occur. Furthermore, more than 1.3 million laser hair removal, 4.3 laser liposuctions were performed in 2016. Laser tattoo removal had a hike of 13% in 2016.

Track 11: Current Scenario and research in Cosmetology

Cosmetology has become most readily used treatments and surgeries in field of medicine. Rhinoplasty is performed by aesthetic surgeons to create functional nose to correct deformities. Facial revival advancements are used to cure facial ailments. Resurfacing and microdermabrasion have been a boon to cosmetic dermatology. Nano particles of metals and metal oxides are used to treat bacterial and fungal infections. Successful aesthetic surgeries like liposuction, labiaplasty and breast augmentation have been modified with time.

As compared to 2015, 17.1 million cosmetic procedures were performed globally with an increase of 3%. Among these 1.7 million were aesthetic surgeries 4% more than 2015 statistics. 15.4 million Cosmetic minimally invasive procedures and 5.8 million reconstructive procedures. In most of breast augmentation surgeries about 84% of silicone implants were used as compared to saline implants.
